The project at Chestnut Close was centred around modernising and extending an outdated property in order to create a future family home for the new owners. The existing house suffered from a lack of natural light and flow at ground floor level. Moving the central downstairs wc helped create a lighter and brighter hallway with direct access into the new Kitchen-Living space.
With the homeowner keen to keep the new extension similar in appearance to the host dwelling externally, the insertion of three Crittall-style doorsets at the rear of the property provided the perfect contemporary twist for access to the garden. A shaker-style Kitchen paired with herringbone flooring throughout the new extension provided a delightful new living and dining space, filled with natural daylight and views of the newly landscaped garden.
